Statement of the organization.
‘The Durban Children’s Homes is committed to
providing children, youth and their families, from the Ethekweni
Metropolitan communities, with child care programmes, which
ensure a relevant and effective service. These programmes
meet the individual developmental needs of children and
youth, thereby ensuring that new skills are learnt, existing
strengths are enhanced and a sense of well being and security
is experienced by every young person in our care.’
The
Developmental Approach provided the framework for the services
provided to children, young people and their families in
each of the programmes offered. A strengths based perspective,
ensures that children, young people and their families are
viewed as unique individuals who have meaningful contributions
to make to their own future. The Rights of Children are
central to all our programmes and are respected and advocated
for at all times. |
