| Up
to 14 children who suffer from life threatening illnesses
are cared for in this center. Many of these children are
HIV positive and suffer from associated opportunistic diseases.
The programme focuses on the emotional, spiritual and medical
care of the children.
Family and extended family play an important
role and are encouraged to participate in all areas of the
programme, from admission through to death. Children are
supported and cared for through all the stages of the dying
process. A garden of remembrance provides closure for family,
staff and surviving children, once the child has died.
